E-Commerce Portal Dynamics NAV
The following solution was designed by Jigsaw to meet the requirements of one of our customers. Described below is an explanation of the order entry process used by the customer prior to the introduction of the Jigsaw Technology solution, a description of the process post implementation and a list of solution benefits.
The Old Methodology
Our customer received hand written and typed orders by fax overnight.
Order entry staff collated all the faxed orders first thing in the morning prior to entering them into Microsoft Dynamics NAV for processing that same day.
Faxed orders were sometimes difficult to read leading to data entry errors while the products ordered via this system may have been out of stock resulting in short deliveries and dissatisfied customers.
When orders were placed no system was in place to inform the customer of existing back orders or stock availability resulting in customer dissatisfaction.
E-Commerce Portal
The E-Commerce Portal allows customers secure access to
Microsoft Dynamics NAV data and the ability to check stock
availability along with the status of any back orders prior to
entering a new order into the system.
Orders are not placed directly into Microsoft Dynamics NAV but held
for release by order entry staff. Once released into Dynamics
NAV the orders are processed by warehouse staff.
The customer also has the ability to view and print backorders and previous invoices.
